Ever since all those derailing incidents, I’m surprised girls don’t carry at least one spare Alco GP-9. It’s not smart to just assume guys like me that pocket two are going to be there.
Actually there’s around a thousand train derailing incidents a year. The event you’re referring to is just when one actually made it to the news.
Is there really only a thousand? I would’ve guessed trains were less dangerous than cars but a thousand derailment still seems exceptionally small.
I thought u meant globally
Hence the need for pockets
Here here
I hate it when I change pants and leave the house without my Portugal.
Do you mean Portugal the country or Portugal the man?
I bet there’s men in Portugal called Portugal, because of the country.
I wonder what are the odds of Portugal meeting another man named Portugal, and then Portugal getting in Portugal, in Portugal.
Yeah, it’s a last name in Portugal.
A rare one, but not unheard of.
I got skinny jeans I can only fit Montenegro anyway. You don’t really need Portugal with you all the time.
I hate leaving house without ВЛ80 and at least Kazahstan.
Now that’s what I call a BЛ80
It’s been like that since I was in high school at least; I remember a girl in the lunch line only managing to fit her thumb and forefinger into her pocket to fish out a quarter, my entire forearm almost to the elbow fit in mine.
And yet, in the 20 years hence, I have heard of no attempt by any manufacturer of any size be it an international textile conglomerate or some chick in her sewing room trying to market women’s pants with actual pockets. So I take it there’s just no demand.
Stop buying girls pants and shop only boy stuff. Watch the industry squirm.
Granted I’m a man who tends to wear women’s size gloves but when it comes to pants I’ve never understood why clothing companies try selling gendered pants but quite often I’ve found that womans pants are basically the same as men’s pants just with less pocket space I’ve in the past accidentally got women’s pants and only realized when I tried to put my phone in the pocket as that’s literally the only way I could tell the difference aside from placement on the target store otherwise the second hand market is completely unlabeled
I regularly shop men’s jeans for the pockets and lower odds of finding glitter on the ass, can say if the fit doesn’t work it’s because the front is a bit too accommodating. But that’s the only issue I occasionally run into.
Glitter on ass now that’s something I’ve yet to see or hear of tho it does sound like a porn tag like cake farting
So I take it there’s just no demand.
From what my female friends told me, they just buy mens’ clothes when they want pockets.
Speaking as someone who has spent thread and needle time expanding ridiculously small pockets in my ‘sewing’ room (bedroom), I hereby demand it. Give us pockets.
Neo-libezi say that no supply means no demand
But that’s a really cool skill to have, at least.
Is that an Iberian country in your pants or are you just happy to see me?
Parts of adulting is admitting you do not have to take you UTAX everywhere, since you never have the drivers and this one need a shady windows seven boot CD-ROM or you have to use the web-interface again and explain to your coworker that they have to save at pdf or they loose the excel formating. And now you have rooms in your pocket to take the whole iberian peninsula.
That is like how girls became woman and carry Cape Verde in the pant so they can use the totebag again
If I were a girl I would just wear cargo pants.
Have you ever seen cargo pants for women? They’re fucking SEXY, they hug curves like leggings but they also have a ton of pockets on em!
I know one that does
In that case you know someone sensible.
Went shopping with the missus in Tenerife. She picked out some jeans and went “are these for men or women, I can’t tell”
“I’ll check.” said I. Put my hands in the pocket. Stopped two knuckles in. “These are women’s jeans.”
Meanwhile, I can fit a Nintendo Switch in my shorts pocket, with joycons attached, and still get the zip closed.
One of the reason for the joycon drift is peoples putting Portugal AFTER the switch
Is there room for a bagger 293?
Of course! That was all just on one side.
Just make space for the Komatsu FGC25-16 Forklift, never know when you might need one!
I prefer Bagger 288!
I carry with me this power bank
https://www.amazon.com/Baseus-Portable-Charger-Charging-20000mAh/dp/B09N3PRJZK
And a usb-c Cabel + car keys + mobile phone + I’ve many empty spaces in case I go to supermarket
But what happens when you need a Simpson MegaShot 3200 PSI (Gas - Cold Water) Portable Pressure Washer w/ OEM Technologies & Honda GC190 Engine (49-State Compliant)? I know I need one of those almost daily where I live…
That’s why I decided to get a purse. My pants kept falling off because of all the shit I carry in my pockets. My phone got scratched up by my house key. Now everything is organized.
Women, why didn’t you tell me about how convenient a purse is?
No thanks. My house key got scratched up by Portugal
Are 90’s Jncos back? Sweet!
PORTUGAL CARALHO!!
I don’t keep an ALCO-GP9 in my pockets since the world’s supply of unsliced bread takes up too much space in there 😞
So you’re the one who’s been hoarding that
My ALCO-GP9 comes in handy when everyone else is waiting on the subway. Do a nice lil cities skylines and spawn my own train from my pocket 😁
I don’t understand how women cope with the lack of pockets. Purses aren’t enough. Below is an honest list of about what I carry with me every single day.
On my body: Phone Bluetooth headphones in case. Multitool with pliars, screwdrivers etc Regular knife Another multitool but it’s shaped like a card 20,000 mA portable battery sometimes Cord usb-c Cigarettes Lighter Bottled water (back pocket) Comb Wallet (sometimes) Little container for stuff, used to be weed but no more Emergency B.C in case of headache or backache *Emergen-C" packet in case of mild electrolyte deficiency
I haven’t even filled half of my total capacity. I still have 7 empty pockets and 2 pockets are only half full. But that’s not all. I bring a backpack everywhere as well.
Why do you carry 2 different multi-tools and a knife? Not hating, they’re your pockets afterall, I’m just curious lol
Also, all that shit, and the one thing that’s a “sometimes” is your wallet? 😅 “well I’ve got my 20lbs of misc equipment, but eh I think I’ll travel light today, no need to grab my 1oz wallet”
Haha! Funny thing is that my wallet is only a “sometimes” because I also bring a backpack around too so often the wallet is in there for safekeeping along with a zillion other things. Going to update the comment with the backpack comments to elaborate lol.
Oh, and the multitools, That’s a good question! I’m a mobile mechanic and am always needing one or the other. It began with just a knife and has expanded since.
1: The regular knife is for scraping gunk off of bolts, terminals etc. And also has a few edges that are the perfect size for peeling back wires. It also has a bottle opener and flathead screwdriver
2: Multitool #1 has a set of pliars, Phillips head, and a few other things I need and
3: The card shaped/sized multitool also comes in handy as it’s a tiny wrench and has cutouts for tiny bolts so I can remove them. It also functions as a decent putty scraper and has a saw I use all the time. To boot, it’s a ruler as well which is nice for sizing up small things.
I just use them all the time and they save me trips to the truck looking for wrenches/ratchets which is also why I carry the light, hope that explains my strangeness a bit lol
Glad you found a system that works for you! I’m on the dead opposite side of the spectrum, i rarely leave the house with more than phone (w/ wallet case), earbuds, and keys. And if my wife is with me, I generally make her keep the keys in her purse so that I’ve got even less to carry lol
FOR REAL
I see a girl with tons of pockets, I’m not thinking fashion. I’m thinking sidekick.
As in, I’m the sidekick.
Yes, that would be a nice green flag to me as well. Bonus points if those pockets are filled with very specific items, like little tools that seem excessive or redundant to others but are vital in getting through your day. That’s someone I wanna follow around and learn from
- Candy pocket
- Fireworks pocket
- GBA pocket
- GBA games pocket
- Portable bar
You’d be surprised what can fit in a purse, especially when it’s neatly organised. I think the only things that wouldn’t realistically fit in your average purse would be the headphones (assuming you mean like, over the ear things and not some buds) and maybe the water and the big ass portable battery (I know plenty of women who carry a smaller one though). Also there’s a few redundancies in your kit like the three different pocket knives
Yeah I usually have a little backpack. I’ll have on me: 1ltr bottle of water, keys, purse (wallet), phone, lip balm, tissues, emergency snacks, painkillers, antihistamines, hairbands, lipstick if I’m wearing any, maybe a light rain coat. Pockets or a handbag don’t do it.
Chuck in a GBA and some games and you’re a keeper :)
Alco… GP9…
General Purpose locomotives are a GM/EMD product.
I get the point, but get your jokes right
Would it make you feel better to know I have unironically carried an n-scale Baldwin SD60 with a Canadian Pacific livery in my pocket?
butwhy.gif Not a Z scale? You could have gotten a bit more bang for your cm3
Because fam it’s a pocket I gotta consider fragility of the Baldwin locos
What do you mean there’s a problem with my 80s Lada Huracán?
Oh yeah? My Baldwin C44-9WL and EMD C630 are totally legit.
