What is everyone watching/planning to watch this season? Any gems to look out for?
My current watch list:
- Mushoku Tensei
- Jujutsu Kaisen
- Horimiya
- Zom 100
- Helck
- Vending Machine-kun
Watching all the releases and I’m waiting for three episodes before I start dropping shows but following are the ones I enjoyed: Liar liar, Zom100, Mushoku tensei, Helck, Vending machine, and Thighza.
The rest had to be on 1.5 or 2x speed or else I would’ve dropped it before the 10minute mark of episode 1.
I usually try out a ton of shows, but also drop a lot of them as the season goes on.
I’ll include a rating giving my current opinion to shows I’m watching, obviously subject to change.Monday:
- Masamune-kun (7)
- Synduality (7)
Tuesday:
- Megane (8)
- Helck (7)
Wednesday:
- Murder Farce (7)
- Cecilia
Thursday:
- Burger Maou
Friday:
- Dekiru Neko (8)
- Nanatsu no Maken (7)
- Ai no Idenshi (6)
Saturday:
- Liar Liar (7)
- Chiisai Senpai (7)
- Temple (7)
- Saikyou Deshita (7)
- Ayaka (6)
Sunday:
- Zom 100 (9)
- Dark Gathering (8)
- Mushoku (7)
- Hero Classroom (6)
- Yohane (5)
Dropped:
- Vending Machine (ep1)
- Last Boss (ep1)
- Level 1 Unique Skill (ep1)
- Ryza (ep1)
- Yumemiru (ep2)
I don’t blame you for dropping Ryza. I am going to give it one more episode before dropping since I have heard good things about the source from a friend that is excited about it, but so far I have found it very dull.
Current season definitely watching:
- Mushoku Tensei S2
- Horimiya - Pieces
Current season trying out:
- Vending Machine
- Helck
Trying to catch up to possibly watch this season:
- Jujutsu Kaisen
Finishing up from last season:
- The Dangers in my Heart
- Loving Yamada at Level 999
- Skip & Loafer
So is this season of horimoya counted as s2? Or a completely diff spinoff?
From what I understand, it’s filling in parts of the story that were skipped in S1. So not really a S2, and not really a spin-off. I’m not sure exactly, but I think the first couple episodes of Pieces were set roughly 1/3 of the way through S1?
I’m enjoying seeing the characters again, and there have been some nice moments.
It’s be closer to season 2 than spin-off.
Ryza
So far only only started a couple:
- Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence
- Tiny Senpai
Want to start:
- Jujutsu Kaisen S2
- My Happy Marriage
- Atelier Ryza
I am not watch anime seasonally usually but: Vending Machine and Jujutsu Kaisen S2, also started One Piece finally, on episode 12 so far.
Watching
- Ruruoni Kenshin
- Ayaka
- Horimiya
- Mushoku Tensei
- Reign of the Seven spellblades
- The gene of AI
- My happy marriage
Notables just finished and waiting for the sequel season
- Hell’s Paradise
- Golden Kamuy
- Mashle
- Why Raeliana ended up at the duke’s mansion
- Dr stone
I generally only watch one or two shows as they air each season and then binge them at the end because I can’t stand the wait, so my pick this season is the vending machine!
I’m more or less trying out everything this season (been doing so for a few now).
The big names are all awesome as expected but I’m really enjoying a lot of the smaller ones as well.
The romcoms have been a lot less enjoyable for me this season so far (last season was STACKED), but I’m still seeing some flashes of brilliance here and there.
Watching:
- Jujutsu Kaisen S2
- Mushoku Tensei S2
- Zom 100
Finishing from last season:
- Dr Stone S3
- Heavenly Delusion
Hoping to finish the ones from last season soon, so I can start more from this season. I try not to watch too many anime per season as it just gets too hard to keep up.
Want to watch:
- Reign of Seven Spellblades
- My Happy Marriage
My happy marriage is beautiful (so far). I never thought i’d be into period drama anime, but hey here we are. I’m hooked!
Currently Watching:
Edens Zero Season 1 Shaman King (2021)
Recently Completed:
Tenkuu Shinpan Chainsaw Man
Struggling to find anything to watch this season. Seems like most shows this season are either continuing series that I don’t care about, or fall pretty firmly into my “don’t bother” list: uninspired isekai schlock, drawn out will they/won’t they romcoms, and contrived harems in which everyone inexplicably likes the self-insert main character just because he’s the only “nice” male in a 50 mile radius.
Ryza is okay but the characters are absurdly dumb (let me closely inspect these blue flowers to check if they are white or not). Zom 100 seems all right and is well animated but the first episode of [40 minutes of generic Japanese salaryman backstory that I don’t care about] was really tedious to get through. I gave the vending machine a chance for at least trying to be unique but was not at all impressed - it’s just the same isekai crap beneath the surface (just buy the exact skill I need to solve each problem that appears). Will probably try to watch the first 3 eps of Helck in one sitting because people have been enthusiastic about it, hopefully it’s decent.
If anyone has any recommendations for a good comedy or fantasy series I’ll check it out, otherwise it’s probably gonna be a backlog season for me.
Try undead murder farce of you haven’t already
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
So far this season…
Enjoying:
- Horimiya
- Zom 100
Waiting to see how it plays out:
- Vending machine
- Ryza
- One Room Hero
- Helck
Waiting to binge after the season is over:
- Kenshin
Old show I am currently watching:
- Science Fell in Love
Watching 10+ more shows. Currently enjoying My Happy Marriage, Zom:100, Mushoku Tensei s2, Helck the most.
Not sure if I should dive into My Happy Marriage or not. From the synopsis, it almost sounds like a courtly love kind of thing, but I have seen some good reviews, so I might give it a shot if it keeps being well received. It could fill the Raeliana-sized hole left after last season.
