& I’m doing pretty good! The wefwef app has done a great job of recreating the Apollo experience and has made it a lot easier to not want to go and download the Reddit app. The more active it gets here, the easier it’ll be. How are you guys doing so far? Have you found an App for Lemmy that you prefer the most yet?

I desperately miss RIF, and I have a community I care about on Reddit that I mod.

But I’m going to see if I can rebuild it here. I think Reddit has basically committed suicide.

Are there any apps for Lemmy that have a “hide read” feature? I had recently started using Sync for Reddit for that feature, because I like to be able to refresh and see all new posts instead of weeding through stuff I’ve already seen. Any tips would be appreciated!

So far I’ve only tried Connect for Lemmy and it works well so far. A little slow and occasionally has issues logging in, but it’s getting the job done.
I’m really hoping that Sync works (when it’s ready) every bit as well for Lemmy as it did for Reddit though, because no other app even came close.

I’ve also been trying to limit my Reddit use on desktop just out of principle.

I’m using connect for lemmy and it’s going good so far. I started reading more about a month ago to try to cut the addiction of reddit.

I’ve been reading Dracula and Frankenstein and both have been great. I’m reading dracula through Dracula daily, but doing my best to read most of it on soft cover. Frekensiten has been fantastic and I’m almost done. Couldn’t recommended it more. There’s no modern adaptation that does it justice.

Long story short, it sucks reddit is gone and my addiction to it is real, but lemmy and books specifically has been a good substitute

That’s awesome. It actually just looks like a completely blank post to me (using Mlem on iPhone), but I assume that’s just because there’s a lot of bugs left to iron out, and features to implement. Excited to see these apps after a few more months.

It’s not too bad. The lack of a history of posts on Lemmy makes me miss Reddit more than anything. The engagement here seems pretty good but I hope it continues to get better. It will just take time.

looked in my app drawer for sync several times today, but using connect right now. wefwef looks pretty solid, reminds me of sync.

I’m 2 weeks in and the apps are already much better than they were then. I miss specific subs but we’ll make more here. All things considered I’m happy with lemmy as a replacement.

Not bad, feels a little bit like going on a reddit detox, the slower speed of the different communities is kind of nice.

I’m a bit confused but I’m getting there. I’ve figured out I can sign into lemmy.world but otherwise I keep getting account errors. World seems decent enough though
