Thanks, I’m old and don’t know how to paint things differently
I procrastinate from my real work by designing retro miniatures, you can find them all here https://cults3d.com/en/users/Doctor-Spork/creations

Cheers, they have taken to the fairway of the 18th hole hunting down their corporate overlords.
Good article. Whilst they are not specifically titled as such I had always assume this fella on the left was the first appearance of a Hrud, he definitely has the look of quite a few of the later images.
Cheers, I am very much stuck in the 90s
Thanks, not too long. I used sponges to paint most of it fairly quickly, it’s a technique that works great for painting 3D printed scenery.
😂 The only think actually GW in this picture is a miniatures case in the background.
That’s my excess greenstuff project, he’s slowly becoming a giant for my Orc and Goblin army
Thanks, it’s quite similar to painting miniatures. I tend to block in the lighter tones and then gradually add shading.
Cheers, its great fun and a fantastic opportunity to really pore over some truly fantastic art. I highly recommend it, even if there isn’t a tiny person nagging you to do it.
Have a look through some of the early 40k rulebooks, there is tons of black and white line art in them as it was much easier and cheaper to print.
I have done a bunch of colouring in with them when the wee one has told me to colour in space marines whilst they are working away in their colouring books.
It’s fairly easy to find PDFs online, then you just need to crop the images and print them out.
Thanks, it’s for my Genestealer Cult so wanted to do an appropriate scheme.
Haha, no those are some Genestealer Cult proxies from Old School Miniatures, they are up on kickstarter just now.

Cheers, I use the Vallejo’s golden olive. It really pops.
Cheers, I think it might be my only vibe when it comes to miniature painting 😂
They’re a purestrain proxy from Hybrid Miniatures, I think it’s inspired on the original art work for genestealers in the Rogue Trader rulebook. I’m attempting to make the whole army from non GW miniatures.
They are really nice models, I’ve got another five of them to paint at some point.
Cheers, these were the first ones i finished. So in theory they should look something like this when I am done.
Cheers, there are another five and patriarch to add to this lot
Cheers.
These were the first four that I did for a game of Necromunda at BOYL, So the rest should end up looking like them.
I should be up for that, I’ve really been getting into the swing of things with my painting recently.
Haha, well now I need to get some green stuff out and make the hippest Genstealer Cult in the funky groovyness of the 41st millenium.
