  • Princess Mononoke (4K IMAX) 4.5/5: This movie is so great and this was a beautiful restoration. What an experience

The Saint 2/5: Watched this in honor of Val Kilmer’s passing. In hindsight there may have been better choices, it really gives “Mission Impossible at home”

The Luckiest Man in America 3.5/5: I thought this was alright, I kinda wish it had gone more into how Micheal actually beat the system. It also got a little loose with the facts but whatever

Drop 1/5: This shit sucked. I saw it for Mystery Movie Monday and was initially confused why someone brought a toddler to an R rated screening. Nope, this is PG-13. This woman is the worst fucking date of all time, the waiter is an improv comedian, and the plot is nonsensical. Also the title sucks, the “Drop” basically doesn’t matter for the whole movie

  • The Final Fantasy pixel remasters are all old school turn based RPGs that can be played one handed on the steam deck. Certainly not all 50 games but UFO 50 has a bunch of games made for a non-existent console that are all pretty simple and I would bet a lot of them can be played one handed. Both Crypt of the Necrodancer and Cadence of Hyrule are rhythm dungeon delver games that probably work one handed too, technically so would the new game Rift of the Necrodancer but that requires more skill than I have

Oh, and for the RPG fan Disco Elysium is almost certainly up his alley and perfect for one handed play

    1. It doesn’t matter what they do, Republicans will always blame Democrats for everything. They blame Democrats for the results of Republican policy, so why are you concerned about a blame game?

    2. Republicans have control of every part of the federal government, The House, Senate, Presidency, and Supreme Court. As long as Democrats just vote no and don’t impede legislation (which they should also do, but I digress), their messaging should be “look how fucking incompetent your leadership is. They have every tool at their disposal and still can’t run a government effectively.” Why is it the Democrats job to assist them? It’s not like Republicans would do the same

I know the answer is that Democrats exist to placate people while Republicans continue enriching the wealthy but man it’d be nice if they grew a fucking spine

  • This is classic America. I don’t have evidence for this but I have to assume that a large part of why America is having a egg crisis and other nations aren’t is because of the absolutely horrendous and unsanitary conditions of our factory farms. Rather than look around the world and see that better living conditions contribute to a higher quality product, better lives for the animals, and lowered risk of massive disease outbreaks (which could become a human pandemic by the way); we’d rather ship in perishable goods from countries who have already figured that out. Our insane thirst for quarterly earnings reports prevents us from even considering something that would be a long term sustainable solution because it would be ever so slightly more expensive up front

  • I generally believe most movies should be shorter and that there’s a lot of room for addition by subtraction. That said, if a movie earns its runtime then I don’t think there’s an upper limit to how long it can be. Lawrence of Arabia is 3 hours and 45 minutes and it’s incredible, I don’t think I’d cut anything in it besides the long black intro screen which is a relic of its time. I would say justifying that run time gets exponentially harder past a certain point.

With Way of Water sitting at 3 hours and 12 minutes I do think Avatar 3 needs an intermission if it’s going to be longer. Asking people to sit and be fully engaged for 3 and a half hours is a big ask and having a chance to go to the bathroom, get snacks, stretch your legs, etc is needed for something that massive
