It’s an old meme sir, but it checks out.

Just ask Betamax how technological superiority went against VHS.
Has it genuinely boosted output? It’s been a while since I used copilot, but the code always required checking. More importantly, the interactions between the code provided by the prompt and the other code it’s working with. Has that all gone now and you can just straight rely on what it spits out?
This is how I picture you as you’re saying that: https://youtu.be/JeNS1ZNHQs8
I’m genuinely curious about the fiscally conservative bit. When I hear that phrase I always assume people mean “I don’t want to pay taxes” but my immediate next question becomes how do you believe societal level infrastructure is constructed and maintained. Things like roads, police, military. I’ve never seen a society with private infrastructure for those things. An immediate second question, assuming you are OK with a small level of taxation to accommodate the costs of the three things listed above would be, what other society level services would fall into the bucket of things that should be paid from taxation vs things that should be privatised. Things like disaster recovery services, judicial services, child welfare services, national security, border protection. I’m going to also assume you object to education and healthcare being a taxation funded expense? What about currently public buildings like libraries? Parks? Town Halls?
The Buttery Males stopped caring once they won. No amount of misconduct from their side will ever be recognised.

It’s a hand offering up a cocktail shrimp.
Netflix correctly knew they were first to market with a streaming service but every production company would quickly pivot to a streaming service, leaving Netflix with no content. So they preemptively started making their own content to try to keep their market share. Sadly their production bets often didn’t pay off.

Interesting. Do you have any more info on the SourceID token and how it can compromise an account?
The United Workers Union (UWU)??!
Hey dude, I don’t know you and I don’t know anything about you. I do know that everyone, even people you would never expect, have value. You are amazing just for being you. If you find things you enjoy, do those things. 10 year old you may be prouder of you than you think, even if it’s because of how you have kept on going when things have gotten tough. I hope you feel that.
Next time you’re in Sydney I’ll buy you a beer. Until then, much respect. Keep up the awesome work.
It’s like the Avengers of Lemmy porn posts in here. We’re just missing Rinnkun. Keep up the awesome work folks.
I was so happy to see Phoebe land here from Reddit.

For clarity, I believe in socialism, and live in Australia, arguably one of the more successful social democracies. I’m trying to highlight how capitalism has some massive gaps when it comes to implementation.
Interestingly, in Australia we have no rental controls, and the market just works. Prices rise and fall based on the demands of the market. At times, renting in Australia becomes unaffordable for many, and it’s all over the news, and people try to address the issue. But I don’t know that I’ve ever heard rental price controls being offered as a solution. The more common proposed solutions are to: build more affordable houses in newly created suburbs further from the city, increase public transport options to the city making outlying suburbs more viable, all of which provide downward pressure on the rental prices in the popular city districts. As construction booms, the rental market softens.

All retailers should display this alongside taxes in the final total. Transparency to the consumer is the key to policy impact visibility.
