This is why I’m opposed to that vandalism happening. If cars are vandalized, they get insurance payouts. If they are left alone, they rot on the lot, not selling, and hurting the bottom line. Protest the dealerships, that will be enough deterrent. No need for the vandalism imo.

Doesn’t get headlines or move momentum forward though. The fire is more visceral. Who cares about money right now. The world is burning might as well burn theirs.

True, but those things are surveillance machines. Covered in cameras, and there’s about a thousand or so unique angles that they’ll have of you committing the act. I just don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze esp when Trump is trying to put terrorism charges on these people. It’s not worth rotting in Guantanamo over.

Not if we keep burning them and the insurance drops their policy. So let’s keep burning them and get the insurance to drop their coverage.

What’s nice about the fediverse is that you can say this and I can agree and upvote without our accounts getting banned. That, and people over on the other site are clutching pearls about this.

You know if you get into a car accident your insurance goes up. If insurance adjusters see there’s a very real persistent and constant danger of Tesla’s being lit on fire while at the dealership guess what happens to insurance rates at those dealerships and for Tesla in general of course? What’s going to cost them more money at the end of the day?
