    1. do you have proof that he rapes children (“has sex with children” is not a thing btw. That’s called rape).
    2. child sexual abuser is not the same thing as pedophile. The vast majority of people that sexually abuse children are not attracted to prepubescent children (literally the requirement for someone being a pedophile), and therefore do not fit the criteria of being a pedophile.

Did you wake up today, and think, “Hey, these pedophiles are unfairly getting mislabeled. I’m going to go defend their preferred nomenclature on the internet today?”

I literally volunteer for a child sex abuse prevention organization. And yes, if we truly care about preventing child sex abuse then we need to acknowledge that there is a difference between pedophiles (people attracted to prepubescent children) and child sex abusers (people who sexually abuse children) (spoiler: most people that sexually abuse children, are not attracted to prepubescent children, and therefore do not fit the criteria of being pedophiles)

Fucking someone under the age of 18 makes you a pedophile. End of story. You’re arguing semantics like fucking a 17 year old isn’t that bad, or at least that’s how you come off. I appreciate your work but that’s just not a distinction anyone cares to make. A pedo is a pedo.

it literally doesn’t. Someone is only a pedophile if they have a persistent sexual attraction to pre-pubescent children. Someone is a child sex abuser if they rape someone under the age of 18.

You’re right. That isn’t “a distincting anyone cares to make” because sadly most people think that their feelings are more important than actually preventing sexual abuse. Disappointing, obviously, but it is what it is I guess.
