I just ate a cheese kransky in a baguette with hot english mustard and t-sauce having a radox bath… and… i’m fundamentally a different person now.

I did not expect that on the bucket list… it will remain permanently on the bucket list I’m not crossing it out.

Just checked flight radar, that’s a yikes. It’s in Oakleigh now though, hopefully you’re safe…

Almost every time I see a plane (or hear a particularly loud one) I check to see who dares disturb my midday slumber

Cop planes don’t disclose most of their info though, so I usually just rely on almost everything being “unknown” to figure out if it’s a copper chopper

I’ve watched my movie and emerged into the bustle of Chapel St Windsor, still on a bit of a high after work (and a very strong drink), absolutely hanging for some Indian food… but it’s so darn pricey for one person! Why aren’t there rice and curry sets at most places 😭 I dont want to spend $6 on rice and $25 on one curry…

I shall just be content with heading home and making some rice to go with leftover bits and pieces. Almost considered a simmer sauce with some fish but maybe not…

That’s true, but I find Indian in general is expensive for a single person for dinner, unless you take home the leftovers. I looked up other Indian joints in Richmond on the way home and most places are $20+ for one curry. I just wanted like a $20 set meal like a lot of places do for lunch… one serve of rice with two curries and a pickle or something.

There was a promising looking south Indian place on Burwood Rd in Hawthorn that had a thali set meal for $16 but I would’ve had to detour and by that point the tiredness had hit me. I’m happy to have come home and decompressed

As wrecked as I’ve been this week thanks to starting on Wegovy, I’ve booked myself a room up in Beechworth for tomorrow and it’s non-refundable so that will force me out of my apartment. I’ll pop into the Billson’s brewery tomorrow afternoon and then chill tf out on the room balcony which overlooks some pretty countryside.

Sunday I’ll get up early, go and spend some time looking at Woolshed Falls then drive to Yackandandah and finally see it. I’ve lined up a place to grab a coffee and breakfast there.

That’s as far as I’ve gotten. As always plans are subject to change (besides the accommodation) because I’m free to do what I want any old time.

Okay, Aussie Zone brains trust, I’ve got an interesting dilemma for you.

So a bit of background. My partner works as a sole trader, and does contract work for a number of companies.

One of the companies she works for has had a full time position open up, which involves managing their external contractors.

Being a sold trader works well for her, so she wants to turn it down. She wants to recommend me instead.

It’s a good job. It gas decent pay.

Here’s the tricky part: Were I to get this role, I would be responsible for managing this company’s external contractors, including my partner.

In effect, I would be her “boss” to some extent.

Working with your spouse or partner is always tricky. Let alone being their manager.

Has anyone here worked with someone they’re in a relationship with? What were the pros and cos? Did you disclose your relationship?

Should I take up the role? Or us it not worth tgd hassles?

It depends on how well you get on with your partner. Go for it. Rake in the cash baby while you can.

This is honestly the part I’m a little wary about.

We live together, and like any people who live together and any relationship, there’s tension from time to time. Will a morning argument about the dishes not being put away spill over to work?

And conversely, there are tensions in any workplace, and things go wrong at work. Will work tensions spill over into our home life?

Chill is back in the air. On the way to a moooovie (MIFF film) even though I have this assignment to do… But I wouldn’t have gotten anything done tonight anyway as it’s been a big day at work… I think my guilt/anxiety over the assignment is what’s caused me to have nasty dreams of teenage woes (had another dream after the one of my mum screaming, with an uncle telling me I wasn’t allowed to watch Suits. Which is weird as I’ve never been interested in watching it anyway and that uncle was relatively lenient)

It’s okay to have a bit of a life outside of work and uni 😩 can’t sustain my psyche otherwise…

In good news though, I passed my probation at one of my jobs today and got a 9% pay bump (they kind of tend to lowball in the first 3 months then do more after. Even my boss admitted it was “embarrassing” what I’d been paid so went beyond the upper range of what I was thinking). The annual equivalent is the highest I’ve ever been paid in my life so far - would finally take me past the PHI tax threshold lol - and it is so much cruisier than my previous job, so I am feeling pretty chuffed about that. 🥂

edit: I also negotiated one day less per fortnight so I kind of end up the same financially but with more time so that’s not so bad at all 😎
