5 hours on PT today to see a doctor.

I’m getting myself a cheap car in a few months if everything goes well. Been so fucking long since I’ve driven. Might need some lessons I think.

Or a small motorcycle/scooter if you don’t go anywhere far.

Before covid, did daily round trips CBD-Camberwell. Fuel, insurance, maintenance all up is about the same as a monthly Myki pass.

My brother has one of the modern postie bike and he gets around on it a fair bit. The second hand market may not be get though. They’ve stopped importing them because of be rules around bikes needing abs brakes. Great bike though

Hoping this storm is an epic one! On a related topic, what happens to Pokemon when theyre inside Pokeballs? Was it ever addressed cannonically? Are they stuck in there like a tiny prison cell, unable to move around or find comfort? Are they put to sleep or induced coma or something? Id like to know

Had donuts cravings this morning that demanded satisfaction. The Paris theme ones really hit the spot, especially the creme brulee 😋 Still riding the high of Miniest winning “Most Creative Costume” award at her parade on Friday. Costume made it home intact, so now I have a giant wearable book in the loungeroom 😂

A big thank you to @[email protected] for hooking me up with an optiplex. It started without a problem and I’ve got it running how I want it to now.

Time to check out some of the selfhosting communities and see what I can do with this thing

I went to get a chicken burger from Red Rooster. They left me sitting at the drive thru window for ages after I’d ordered at the box. Eventually I saw one of the cooks walk up to the guy who was meant to come and see me, he had my burger in his hand and must have said “can I give this to the drive thru?” or something and the guy said yes so he comes over and hands me the burger, says have a good night and closes the window. Notice that at no point had I paid.

I don’t know if it’s just because I’ve been playing too much cowboy video game but I just left with my burger. Peeled out of there like I’d pulled off a heist. So I’m officially an outlaw now. Life is rough on the other side of the law but it sure is excitin’! Yeehaw!

Never realised that Platinum Qantas get shown different flight and pricing options. Was tentatively considering travelling end of year—which I used to—but have avoided like the plague for donkeys. The difference displayed in pricing was 2:1.

I shouldn’t be surprised. I get better treatment on a lower tier by partner airlines internationally compared to flying domestically at home and Qantas planes wouldn’t know what a deep clean was if it hit them on the head.

Not for me, sadly. Someone else who looked up the flights who has Platinum, it seemed to display cheaper pricing. Not sure why. They’re able to book flights for two for about the price that I was shown for flights for one.

Power came on and it was a shame in a way because we were having a discussion about the internet: which would you rather, shitty internet or none at all?

Every single day I have been sorting and clearing out boxes. Today it’s getting rid of some sewing supplies I will never use. Maybe some one else can get some use. Yesterday it was a bunch of books, some dvds and some kitchenware I didn’t want.

Looks like the cbd and the inner east copped it. Only minor here in Thornbury. Rain yes, no hail and not much thunder.

I think the dramatic purple section passed a bit to the south of me (outer east). There was lots of dramatic flashes and ominus rumbling but nothing too bad. Maybe getting out the emergency torch etc. warded it off.
