What’s wrong dude? Do you at least have some basic food to last you a few days or can get some?

      I can find some resources

      Edit: Food organisations

(If you have or can get basics) Boris’s budget cooking

Ps. I hope this isn’t as serious as it sounds and that I’m only jumping to conclusions. But this isn’t a sneak diss or anything, the economy being what it is I instantly worry when someone says they can’t get food

I got enough food in the freezer, tons of pasta and noodles to get me by.

I was hoping to be able to treat myself to some extra food like homemade burgers and stuff but something unexpected happened and drained my reserves to be able to do that.

Also can’t afford to fill up on petrol so I’m basically going to save as much travelling as I can for the moment.

Does anyone here have any knowledge on share dividends and what it means to have it fully franked?

Fully franked you get a credit for entire dividend amount and can offset your tax with that credit.

      might help

        Let’s say I have a dividend payout of 20cent and it’s 100% franked.

If it’s fully franked do I only get 20cents? or more than 20c?

          You get (20c / (1-0.3)) -20c = A franking credit of about 8.5c

so you’re ending up getting 20c + 8.5c or 28.5c. It’s to avoid double taxation.

It’s a bit like when your employer pays part of your pay to the ATO in anticipation of future tax. If the company distributes money they have already paid tax on you will have a dividend that is paid directly to you, plus an amount that has been paid in tax. Fully franked means the company has paid tax on the whole lot, partially franked means they only paid tax on a part of it. When you come to do your tax return the ATO will work out how much you actually owe (based on the tax rate for your income) and either ask for a bit more tax or refund the extra.

Lots of these - with big machines to chop metal things up into smaller bits. Until recently there was one in Weston St in Brunswick - just near Barkly Square and next door to the Comanchero Bikie Gang headquarters. Not a coincidence I think.

There’s some kind of onepass members deal weekend thing happening from today til sunday. Considered posting in the frugal community, but although they are deals, everything is branded so it doesn’t really compare to just buying home brand everything (I mean who the fuck is spending 30 bucks (on sale!) for “One Summer Eau De Toilette Spray”??). But these are some of them that seemed okay:

    Kmart

    • 110 pack Finish Classic dishwashing tabs - $15 [13.6c per tab]
    • 1.25L Morning Fresh original dishwashing liquid - $7 [55.9c/100ml (I think)]
    • Handheld physio massage gun set - $49
    • 10 piece Sistema Storage Set - $22
    • 188 Piece Mega Art Set - $29
    • 4L Duo washing liquid [$3/L]
    • 5kg clean and soften washing powder - $12 [$2.40/kg]*

(NB on the washing powder: Coles sell a 4kg box of homebrand washing powder for $5, so that’s what I mean by homebrand still being cheaper. That’s what I usually buy)

And a couple more from Kmart that seem like more kiddy things. Idk if they’re worth it, or would even appeal to kids (they seem like stuff nobody else bought so ended up on special buy to me), but I know a lot of parents like to buy things on sale for chrissy time through the year, so maybe they appeal to someone:

    • Heroes of Goo Jit Zu Jurassic World assorted dinosaur thingies - $10ea
    • Disney Sorcerer’s Arena Epic Alliances Core Set - $15
    • Hot Wheels City Super Loop Fire Station Playset - $19
    • Crayola Multi-Colour Light Board - $10
    • Monster Jam Garage Grave Digger Playset - $49
    • Nickelodeon PAW Patrol All PAWS Gift Set - $15
    • DreamWorks Gabby’s Dollhouse Kitty Fairy’s Garden Treehouse Playset - $29

    Elsewhere

Catch, Bunnings, Target, and Priceline all have deals on, too, but I haven’t had a chance to look through them just yet. Plus I’m trying not to impulse buy all of the things.

Officeworks has 15x flybuys points on Apple products, and half price standard photo printing in store.

You have a fair point. Personally, I’ve pretty much just accepted my details probably already are up for sale somewhere. Everywhere seems to either have data breaches once a week, or basically is a data breach (selling everything they know to the highest bidder). The “deals” aren’t really anything special for the most part either. Half price/home brand pretty much makes the first list redundant anyway

That’s totally cool to go in there. I’m not a mod or anything but if people prefer brand for some reason and use deals or coupons that’s still frugal
