It’ll be a miracle today if I get any quiet time at work today.

On to my 4th coffee now, I could make it to 5 today the rate I’m going!

Looking forward to the end of the day and pondering if I should go get some more groceries or just go straight home and worry about it later in the week.

I’ve definitely has cases in the past when I’ve had brewed coffees and lattes with extra shots give me the shakes and a buzz , that’s usually the time when I recognise that I’ve had enough real coffee for the day.

I’ve done that too. Also got quite nauseous and felt generally unwell. I was about to go to the doctor when I realised what the cause was, I’ve been careful to limit my caffeine intake ever since.

Really bad end to the day even if it only lasted for 10-15 mins.

Not looking forward to seeing how the rest of the time goes until I go on break.

Hopefully the steps put in place for the future will prevent future altercations from occurring.

Nothing like dealing with someone who thinks the way to solve problems is to enact revenge and thinking that’s the right way of doing things.

That’s cos the game is not ‘getting the work done’, the game is ‘being top dog’. I agree with melba that this goes nowhere good. Put on your own oxygen mask first. Good to know that steps are being taken.
EDIT: I’d put money on this person’s work history being littered with similar situations.

Oh no, that sounds really miserable… hope this person pulls their head in soon. I hate it when one person can ruin your whole day. When will you be going on break?

Argh, still a while to go. Hang in there, it’s good that at least you know you have a hard end date with this person

      Oh that goes nowhere good.

Maybe you’d like to secretly take notes of/document/bcc every single thing you can and perhaps polish your resume just in case

I reported everything and some steps are being put in place.

It’s not my safety that I’m worried about but I do have to deal with the stubbornness and attitude which makes is very unpleasant to end the day.

I just meant if they try to undermine you or hassle you out of the job.

I know how you feel, fingers crossed it gets sorted

Mixed some midori with some fruit juice. Not too bad.

    Now I need ice cubes.

Yep, it was that sort of a day.

      Noice

Midori and lemonade is a classic drink. Grab a bottle next time you’re at Aldi.

Got a reference request from a former colleague that I did not along with.

Our work relationship was cold, at best, so it’s interesting that they would want to use me a reference.

    I declined politely.

They were difficult to work with and created a large amount of unnecessary work for everyone.

When I say polite it was basically

‘Considering our respective roles during your time here, I am not in a position to provide you with a good reference. Good luck with the job hunt’

This person still knows people in our organisation, so I didn’t think to completely destroy the bridge…just in case

Great way to fob them off, you never know how people respond to more explicit rejection and it can fuck stuff up in other ways.

So I have this art project I’m doing. omg, all the skills I need to learn to get it done. I suppose I could go very low tech and just hand write everything but I don’t think that will work. There’s the art skills/hand skills, like painting , composition and calligraphy, and then there’s all the tech/computer skills of making the project ( it’s a book ) I find the tech skills the most frustrating.

happily skills are forever and never wasted 🙂

I wish my boys could talk a bit more. Something was bothering one of them tonight and he couldn’t get to sleep, I wish he could tell me what it was

Depending on their ages, they sometimes lack the vocabulary to put their feelings into words, especially if they’re new feelings or sort of vague feelings or worries. It’s frustrating because it’s hard to know what prompts to give to get them talking. Sounds like you’re doing the right thing and you’re there for them and they know that, that’s all you can do sometimes.

Their speech was always going to be delayed because they’re twins. One is putting together two word sentences pretty consistently now and the other understands everything but doesn’t talk as much.

I’ve put together some flashcards using the program Anki and it has really helped them start recognising things and saying a few words

Got off TAFE early today. Teacher had to pick up her kid from childcare cause they couldn’t be arsed dealing with a three year old’s tantrum. Some bullshit about the literal toddler posing a threat to other kids.

I was hoping to get more work done today. Guess I’m getting more units extended to next week.

First class survived. Don’t think I made a tit of myself. Making friends seems unlikely though.
