Just want to say thank you all again for the support yesterday. Truly a supportive space here with great advice. After going into the eye and ear today for a follow up her schedule has reduced which means less refusal and it’s going to be a bit easier for her.

Had a massive day, just sat down to go through the happenings of the DT. Two days in a row not WFH is a shock to the system, I’ve become such a home working slob. Quick wind down then off to bed as I gotta do it all again tomorrow. 😴

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Fucking cleaning took so long even with the help of a friend because there was still Stuff that took long rob to load. Wish I didn’t have overdue stuff to do at work this morning.

But i am really, truly, for sure this time 99% done - every last thing has been cleaned except the kitchen and second bedroom floor, it was too late for a vacuum. Tomorrow lunchtime i shall mop, take exit photos, drop off the keys and be done with moving out.

… next stage is moving in… I live in a fortress of bags and boxes. But first, my car is loaded up with shit that needs donating including a neglected bike (with good parts). Gonna try and temporarily store it at work so I don’t need to be driving around with a whole ass bike in the back for the next few days.

Also, the check tyre pressure light came on even though I got a new tyre. More headaches! Rahhhh!

    Good night everyone…

Often that light will come on after a change because it just needs to be reset. Pop into a servo and check the tires and if they seem ok there’ll be a way to reset the sensor.

And cheers in advance for handing back the keys 🙌🏻🙌🏻

OK. I might do some tv and movie stuff . I just look at random stuff or maybe watch what other people talk about.

The Package aka The Pakige with Gene Hackman. Before Die Hard there was The Package but without the jokes or impressive action scenes. 2 hobbits.

All Is Lost. If self reliance really was a thing then there would no such thing as outside people or events messing up life. Robert Redford was amazing in this.

3.5 hobbits just to watch RR

    kevin can go fuck himself

I am reminded of Henry Miller writing of another author, the author writing of a man cut in slices, different aspects of the man and their life written as separate stories. Much like his nexus trilogy. Maybe he was talking about himself, eh.

or the verve singing their bittersweet symphony , being a million different people each day

edgy brave smart woman sick of stupid men tries to fight the system

but really, how many chances do stupid abusive men deserve? dumping them is not giving up, it’s being real and cutting losses

this show had real potential, wasn’t renewed

I liked Kevin Can Fuck Himself, it shows a really interesting perspective. I haven’t watched the type of show they’re making fun of in a long time - is Kevin exaggerated or are sitcom husbands really that bad?

modern sitcom husbands aren’t that bad, they are usually “lads” and in the marriage are still part of a team, kevin is a lying selfish prick

Tyre change booked in for 2pm. Condition report to be dropped off. Cleaning this arvo.

At work for half a day because I have so much overdue but also it’s a nice bit of familiarity and stability amidst everything

Living off sheer adrenaline, yeah!!! I think I’ll need to take an afternoon dose of meds today…

        Something odd happened last week.

He reached out to offer some mentoring because he felt that maybe it would help, which I agreed to.

He must have known he was leaving last week already. Curious to see what this will be about.

so your still meeting before he leaves? interesting.

I think you’ll find you don’t need mentoring. From what I heard your project management experience was second to none. all your skills in fact. Glowing report really.

            A very glowing report!

Yeah I’m super curious to see what this is about. I don’t think he’s being asked to do it, I think he was offering because he’s a good dude.

I’ll keep you posted. First meeting is Friday.

He’s going to discuss with the directors about sidestepping me into another role, I’m not well suited for the one my original role grew into. I’ll see what they offer, but I think it’ll be adios for me.

“Today the children pretended to eat the vegetables and say “yumm!”” You know what daycare, I will give you 500 bucks if that was actually the case! Given i watched tinyest pick out a fleck of zucchini from a casserole and when I asked him if he was gonna eat it he looked me dead in the eyes and said “Nooo”.

Combine zucchini and bacon and you have food of the gods

Edit: and chargrilled or bbqd after soaking in seasoned olive oil

They will eat anything at daycare and love it. You could make exactly the same recipe at home and they hate it. Welcome to the art of hiding vegetables.

Yep. Feels. Inserting vegetables into small kids is a thankless task. Thank god(s) for meatloaf - and a food processor for pureeing suspicious items into unidentifiable goo. I am eternally grateful that homemade tomato sauce also contains an adequate quantity of vegetables.

Both my boys went through a ‘vegetables are poisonous’ stage, which was mercifully brief but hoo boy it was hard to cope with at the time!

I was really lucky, Miss Seagoon was pretty easy, only when older she developed likes and dislikes. No capsicum, no pumpkin and no no onion. I solved it by first, not making any drama at all if she didn’t want something, she could leave it on her plate. And then when older letting her serve herself, that way there were no arguments

My kid was the same. Ate every vegetable. Still eats every vegetable except spring onion. From a very early age, around the table, we discussed the benefits of each veg (every veg is a Super food) and the fact vegetables give you good poo poos. Never had to hide them. Never separate meals.

I had a more tough love approach. You don’t have to eat them but you’ll go to bed hungry. Was that bullying? Probably yes. Does my kid have a problem with food? Not in the slightest.

I think the only reason my kid eats vegetables now is from peer group pressure at childcare, lol. No idea how they got the other kids there to eat them, though

I also became an expert at hiding extra veggies in things like bolognaise sauce

Working from home feels like a rest after such a big weekend. I want to focus though so I can work on other things the rest of this week
