We are already in the concentration camp for irrepressible oligarchs, its called Earth. We are the grease trap for souls in the Universe and all the shitheads congealing on this planet enables the alien races to remain pure from the constant drag and grind of fostering chuds among them.

I think we’re just ballast to keep the chuds from sinking into the oblivion of their own dark hearts but at this point they’ve overgrown our ability to contain them and now we need to let them destroy everything in order to educate themselves.

Some people do actually initially start using opiates as a performance enhancer. Thats not really a crazy take. I know people with similar stories in the first months of their use, before the negatives started outweighing the positives.

I get the anger, but this idea wouldn’t be out of place in European countries like Netherlands and Portugal. Drug rehabilitation is a positive, left wing policy.

The term “concentration camps” usually doesn’t refer to places people volunteer to go to. The headline’s clickbait enough as it is.

Love how people actually believe that RFK’s labor camp plan is voluntary, just because he said “where you can choose to go”.

4 years of hearing Trump and his cohorts lie about literally everything, and you’re ready for another 4 of giving them the benefit of a doubt. Truly breathtaking naïveté.

So what you’re saying is that the reality isn’t bad enough so we need to make shit up and exaggerate everything? Because I disagree with that. I think things are bad enough that you can just be truthful about it, and lying is actually counterproductive because it discredits legitimate criticism.

Like if you want to talk about concentration camps, we’ve already got them for undocumented migrants.

Camps like this already exist for kids and teenagers, the best example is the Elan school. Though they have been having increased pushback this could be a way to keep them running by including adults. Basically nobody should trust this idea on the base concept, since even if RFK Jr is legit trying to do a good thing with ernest sincerity he is still putting things in place to enable such abuse.

Also even if it starts out voluntary I garunfuckentee it will be involuntary via court order eventually. It will most likely start as a addict rehab but quickly evolve into a place to shove mentally ill folks into.

OK, but a news article describing what “RFK says” should not say that he says he wants concentration camps when that’s not at all what he said. You’re free to speculate about what his real intentions might be, but the news has a responsibility to report what he actually said, not their personal opinion of what it might eventually turn into.

Saying that he said he wants “labor camps” is already taking some wild creative liberties. Like, if I rent a cabin in a campsite and bring my laptop to do some work while I’m out there, is that a “labor camp?” I’m at a camp and I’m doing labor, I guess. But to say that he explicitly called for “concentration camps” is just an outright lie. And it’s absolutely wild to me that anyone would want the news to lie to them! You’re asking for the press to be more sensationalist, and judging by the downvotes, that’s just majority opinion here.

Some of us actually take the risks seriously and need to have accurate threat modelling. I have no patience for this game of making stuff up to get mad about.

Fair enough, hence why I outlined my actual threat modeling. This shit historically has a pretty straightforward progression.

I said nothing about concentration camps on purpose as well for just that reason. But yeah I wont take Captain Brain worm on his word, at best he is honest and just ignorant to what will happen with them at worst he is lying.

Anyways I was just pointing out that we really shouldn’t take him at his word. That doesnt mean taking active action, it just means dont believe him. Though I do agree that folks calling it a concentration camp are risking watering down the actual issues that will most likely arise, after all if all their doing is waterboarding folks when you expect gas chambers it makes it seem less horrific.

On the farms, he said, residents would grow their own organic food—which would help them recover from addiction,

These people are going to starve to death. It’s difficult enough to farm when you want to farm.

Don’t worry, they’ll have all the most advanced GMO crops, pesticides, and fertilizer. The plants will grow no matter what you do. Whether you want to eat them or not is an open question.

I mean, it’s RFK Jr. I doubt he would even be able to identify real organic fertilizers anyway. If he were to inspect a site and see fertilizers, even organic fertilizer in bags, he’s probably tell them to throw it out and just just rely on the unamended soil. He would then go home and eat over priced Whole Foods produce that may or may not be honest about the organic label.

Not exactly. My ADHD has only one good use… I am amazing at dealing with worst case scenarios and in fact thrive in them. I will always find a way to do something, survive and enjoy it. I had more fun in Japan when I was broke after I lost my scholarship than I was before I did. I rode a busted old bike with flat tires everywhere, I found ways to scrounge for food, I survived odd of a bag of flour and snuck my mom into my dorm. I have no interest in normal day to day easy life. Put me in the wilderness and make me kill my food.

The Mother Jones article presents this as a quote from RFK where he does use the word “farm”. The context of the article is a virtual “Latino town hall” event, so I assume that’s where he said the following:

I’m going to create these wellness farms where they can go to get off of illegal drugs, off of opiates, but also illegal drugs, other psychiatric drugs, if they want to, to get off of SSRIs, to get off of benzos, to get off of Adderall, and to spend time as much time as they need—three or four years if they need it—to learn to get reparented, to reconnect with communities.

Fascists don’t use language to convey meaning or truth, they use it as a weapon to manipulate. It’s on purpose that they muddy the meaning of words and won’t define terms even in legal bills so their judges can use the worst interpretation of the broad, vague law like the anti lgbtq law in Russia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_anti-LGBT_law

It’s the same way they try to count legal immigrants in the US under asylum as illegal criminals and won’t define words like woke unless required by a court.

Yeah sorry should have been more clear I suppose. The narrative they’re trying to perpetuate is that nobody is ill and all of the prescription drugs are unnecessary, and that all the people taking medication for their illnesses really just want to be off of it but have no ability.

Realistically, yeah he’s going to build the camps, and then it’s a very short hop skip and a jump to court orders putting people there.

To be honest they should just do an opinion piece saying exactly what we know he’s going to do. We don’t need him to pretend that’s exactly what he said.

This is a pretty cool example of media bias distorting facts in order to cause kind of a Shiri’s Scissor scenario in the reader based on where they get their news. Liberal source gives an inaccurate, more interpretive story based on what is already known about the parties involved. I’d wager a more conservative source would just give a direct statement of what RFK said here, which sounds fairly reasonable if you have no bias against the man and his team. Discussing this point becomes incredibly controversial between the groups because we have opposing interpretations of the same event, and it’s difficult to come to any understanding without breaking many things down into smaller parts.

All this is to say I agree, it should have been an opinion piece. It’s dishonest as it is now and would only cause friction, confusion, and raised hackles. We know how troubled teen camps fail kids, and what happens when bad people have power over vulnerable people. The writing is on the wall, but it’s not clear for all of us. Be less inflammatory and more informative, is what I think news should be.

Once the farms are built I wonder how long they’ll stay voluntary. He’s taking baby steps to a massive slave labor industry
