You don’t deserve to participate in society just for being born. You deserve it by being a contributor to it. All you deserve for being born is a fair chance not to be evil. The price for crossing that line should be everything.
I realize the line of thinking is dangerously close to theirs. But it isn’t based on arbitrary issues like beliefs or race. It’s just being a decent person. That line should be pretty clear and obvious.

We live in interesting times, but the variables at hand are different from the history that seems to be repeating in very important ways.
What’s worse, this happens at a time when there are already certain issues genuinely bigger than humans as a species (in some regards), like climate change, that ought to supercede all other issues and really need everyone to pool all of their resources and be smart about it.

Would be an absolute shame if someone was to, say, make a video edit showcasing his salutes and claiming President Musk should be the one in office.
Would be worse if it would to get a lot of traction. It would be absolutely terrible if during this fragile time, some video like this would cause friction between some stupid manchild and a demented idiot. It would pain my heart heavily if such a video would help convince non extremist voters that Musk and the new powers that be are of a certain affiliation.

It’s a little more nuanced than that, but it does heavily imply that Elon Musk had some kind of insider knowledge on how the voting machines worked (which, as a private citizen with no connection to the manufacturer of the product, he should not have access to) and Trump credits him as the reason he won the state in a landslide… Highly, highly suspicious phrasing. It could be that Trump is just giving Musk credit for his knowledge of tech in general, but given Trump’s known history of attempting to influence the outcome of elections through nefarious means, I wouldn’t put it past him to have actually done something. Especially something like using the resources of the richest man on the planet to get what he wants.
Of course, spineless Dems will never challenge him on this. I expect him to fully get away with it, like he does everything.
Combine this with ‘you don’t even have to vote’ Would love to see some journalist digging into this.
On one hand I am certainly inclined to believe that all the shrieking they did last time about dominion and rigged votes was projection as usual and their own justification to do it this time. But on the other, I am perhaps more likely to believe that a 78 year old on the precipice of dementia and who has a very clear and prolific history of being a fucking moron just confused it with Musk being a tech bro and his scheme of paying millions of dollars for votes in PA that was actually technically just a glorified lottery but that clearly was intended to pay for votes, which was actually argued to not be a lottery because the whole thing was rigged itself to pay out to right wing influencers. That might also explain why and how musk seems to have his ear and influence over his stances and what he says.
I would like to believe the former, but unfortunately I think the latter is more likely and that trump did actually win by the margin he did because so many people are so stupid. Because it would have had to be a nationwide hack to change the totals in nearly every state, versus just another gaffe from the non stop geyser of verbal diarrhea.
Of course. I always look at claims such as this with a healthy degree of skepticism, doused with a generous splash Occam’s Razor for good measure. A skeptic’s simplest explanation would be that nothing happened and Trump is being an idiot as usual. But still, it’s worth looking into I would imagine. A subpoena to get Trump and Musk on record about this statement and what Musk does or does not know about the voting machines, at the very least, would be prudent.

I actually think it’s pretty simple and not even that sinister, although I do think you need to have certain undesirable, in my opinion, character traits.
I’ll preface this by stating I know nothing about this stuff, I’m a software developer.
These people, for the most part, come from money so I doubt that’s ever the goal. Like I said it’s power. To your other point about thinking they’re better than us, I think they do and mainly because when you get this much wealth and power you’re surrounded by yes men.
So take someone like Harvey Weinstein; people don’t go from 0-100 in the crazy shit to do scale. But imagine you’re surrounded by yes men, so you do something at level 3 on the weirdness/creepy scale and nobody challenges you and it becomes the new baseline. Now you escalate to something at level 7 on the scale and so this goes unchallenged and the new baseline. After a while you get people doing and getting away with the craziest shit.
I think this applies to people like Elon Musk, Russel Brand, Trump, and many other folk who seek out power or an audience.
