Yeah I’ve never understood how this is a problem people have, I don’t think I’ve ever accidentally pressed it while playing a game

depends on what games, in fast pace games you would have keys binded all over easily reachable by your left hand, shift/tab/ctrl/alt could all be used, that’s why many gaming keyboards also come with a switch to disable the windows key as well.

Same. People with small hands maybe, whose hand base is near the keyboard when hovering WASD.

Starcraft - alt and ctrl are frequently used, easy slip to make in a rush. Pretty sure there was an override in the options menu specifically for preventing this.

I remember having this problem back in like 1998 or whenever that button became a thing. Sometimes if accidentally hit it whike DOS gaming and it would crash my game. No idea why people would want to disable it these days.

Hmm? That’s not how what works? I was really just making a poor joke there.

I was just kidding. 😁 But also there is surely a huge number of people who are simply unaware of any alternatives.

It’s almost like those people aren’t encouraged to seek out alternatives…like all their peers just called them idiots or something

                It was a joke.

But yes, exactly. The reason is most definitely that nobody tells them there are alternatives. People think Windows “is the computer”. Much like they can’t separate the monitor from “the computer”. And these things are hard, even though they are obvious to us who know.
