Luigi Mangione is accused of stalking United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and shooting him to death on Dec. 4, 2024.
Does the public have any information on the evidence they have that he did it? What I have read about all sounds like a weak case with what I suspect is a mountain of inadmissible evidence gathered by methods outside of laws that would apply to the non elite class.
It is an extremely weak case. He is unidentifiable by the video, which is their best evidence by far, and any physical evidence is suspect in multiple ways, due to police corruption and corporate/ oligarch pressure. It should be very easy to sow reasonable doubt.
plus having mayor andams escorting them in a perp walk for brownie points to get trumps attention isnt helping the prosecutors case.
That probably won’t matter to the actual court case, but it was a symbol that the “System” was going to do everything they can to get this guy. It was an attempt to send a message to the citizens, poor and rich alike, that an attack on the rich would not be tolerated. It was supposed to influence public opinion, and the jury pool.
But it backfired spectacularly. The first time i saw that photo, it had a caption like “Jesus is accompanied by Roman Soldiers to his crucifixion.” That was NOT the message they were trying to send.
If the eyebrows don’t fit, you must acquit.
I mean, the only other option is to plead guilty, and nobody would do that. So this was kind of expected.
Good. All the best to him.
He can’t have done it, I saw him on the day and I don’t live in the US. He’s telling the truth.
He’s guilty of stealing my heart tho
Why, is he made of cheese?
whatever he’s made of id eat the shit out of him.
I mean, cheese is one thing. But if shit is your thing, who am I to judge.
Guilty of my cholesterol.
I believe him.
Yo, guy… Did you kill that CEO?
We all killed that
CEOleech, on this blessed day
He couldn’t have done it! He was having a couple beers with me at the time that CEO died
I remember that night! He was buying rounds for the whole bar, what a great guy!
I was at that bar too, great guy. I’ll testify under oath.
Dude was with me in Bahamas
I was in the Bahamas and witnessed him being with you.
Who’s that guy? Doesn’t look like the guy they were searching for. At all.
Yeah that tracks. He was walking my dough at the time.
He was walking my dough at the time
Is that a new way to make bread?
Mmmmm, barium bromide.
It’s how you make feetza.
The yeast is included.
He’s the best guy around.
I was banned from reddit cause I supported him feel at home here
Free Luigi, he did it and I stand with him.
Where’s your evidence he is guilty?
*If
That kid didn’t do it. They are railroading him too hard and committing too many procedural violations for it to be anything but a setup.
Any normal case a judge would throw everything out for how prejudicial the state has behaved.
The face they don’t care how blatantly prejudicial they are shows they don’t care if he did it or not.
He didn’t do it.
The CEOs wife had hmm killed for meeting his side piece there.
The assassin was from El Salvador or something.
All the photos look exactly like him tho… I mean is there is substantial evidence he didn’t do it? I fully support him, but I think it’s a stretch to say he was framed and the photos look nothing alike
Dude has a familiar face. There are tons of people that look “just like” those fuzzy videos and pics
Could those photos be ai generated?
The only way we can be reasonably sure they are not is if we believe the prosecution is honoring their commitment to the constitution and acting in good faith.
I do not believe they are acting in good faith.
This means I have reasonable doubt on their entire effort.
Justice is dead.
I think most of the people are pretty sure he did it. It’s just that the “it wasn’t him” defense is popular amongst the people that think vigilante justice should allow for legalized murder.
If he actually did it, he should rot in jail like any other murderer. If it can be proven that he didn’t, he didn’t he should walk free. That’s how it should be. That is how civilized people work.
And the people that think he should walk even if he did kill a man- just because of who that man is, they have become the very thing they hate.
If only they would take a moment to understand this.
If he actually did it, he should rot in jail like any other murderer. If it can be proven that he didn’t, he didn’t he should walk free. That’s how it should be. That is how civilized people work.
I think you got it a little mixed up. The state needs to have it proven that he did in fact commit that murder, and not leave any doubt about it. It’s really not his job to prove anything, let alone that you can’t prove innocence in a lot of cases.
Either way it doesn’t matter. The point is- if it is proven that he did it, he should rot. If it is found that he didn’t, he should walk.
That’s how a justice system is supposed to work.
We don’t decide who’s guilty or not based on how we feel about the victim.
By your very own argument, you are highlighting the important part that you are missing. What if the justice system finds out it doesn’t know. Justice is not boolean.
IF HE DID IT, HE SHOULD ROT. IF HE DIDN’T, HE SHOULD WALK.
Does every concept of every idea need to be explained around here? It’s a given in the above statement that if he can’t be found guilty- he should walk. Why does this need to be argued?
My fucking god people need everything spelled out around here. For fuck’s sake.
Kyle Rittenhouse has entered the chat.
So from-
We don’t decide who’s guilty or not based on how we feel about the victim.
Your take is that I’m Rittenhouse.
LOL…

If the state can prove that he undoubtedly did it, he should be punished.
If the state’s case is weak enough to leave some lingering doubts, he should walk.
The defense doesn’t have to prove anything. Their job is to cast doubt on whatever the state claims.
That’s how our justice system works.
Either way it doesn’t matter. If he did it, he should rot. If he didn’t- He should walk.
Why is this difficult for you to understand.
Innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt
The misuse of evidence and the lead detective and mayor sharing evidence his lawyer hasn’t seen in a media campaign to impugn the man.
There’s reasonable doubt in their earnest attempt at seeking justice here. They seem hellbent on violating his constitutional rights.
I doubt they have the right guy. Reasonably
Excellent explanation, I too doubt that it was him and would vote not guilty
There shouldn’t need to be evidence of his innocence, there should need to be an overwhelming amount of evidence proving he’s guilty. That’s part of the foundation for justice that courts are meant to uphold.
Edit: mistype for spelling
Are any of the photos from the crime scene?
Because if you find a guy who matches “photo of guy getting coffee”, you still don’t have evidence that he’s a killer. You have evidence that he got some coffee.
The police say the bullets matched the “ghost gun” that he had on him, along with fingerprints from the crime scene. They say it’s “hard evidence.”
He should be acquitted specifically to make a point. A certain type of individual may or may not be safe if said person performs against the interest of their constituents.
I like how you think.
Luigi Mangione is a hero of the people.
For no reason at all.

Wow! This is amazing! This garden vegetable is talking! I mean, it’s completely wrong, but god damn! Talking veggies!
how about the billionaires who donate to the politicians? I’d say in several cases they have more power. And btw (while I don’t think killing him was good), the company was developing an AI under that CEOs leadership designed to find more complex ways to deny claims
He operated the largest health insurance company, setting the model for the rest to follow. Thousands, perhaps millions, of people suffered/ died when he fraudulently denied them the health care that they paid for. He is a corporate serial killer, who murdered people for profit. Whoever killed him, did it to protect his customers from his fraudulent, and deadly, business practices.
Well, he operated the lowest branch of the largest health insurance company, but I’d say the rest still applies.
too bad it wasnt witty or hemsely, the head of the companies of UHG.
The guy was making north of $10 mill a year, so he wasn’t small potatoes.
I didn’t say he was any kind of potatoes, just pointing out a fact.
Was probably self-defense then.
Or in defense of others.
But he oversaw one of the worst insurance companies out there.
I looked at some of thier subsidiaries, and i know people that have to use thier pharamcy networks, also terrible service. optum health is owned by UHG.
Nah. He’s “just some schmuck.” TURNIP HAS SPOKEN.
Nah he was just framed as one
True hero!
