I was grinding Clair Obscur Expedition 33 all my characters to level 50. I guess I turned off my handheld too soon? All the saves were gone! It didn’t make sense but it happened! (I tried all the suggestions and none worked.)
It took me so many hours and it just poof’ed.
I am going back to Steam.

No local save? That’s generally how it works for me, the cloud is a backup, not primary.
I think the cloud save overwrote the local saves. Steam will never happen like this
I guarantee you that Xbox GamePass tech team is not reading this lol. Not because they don’t care, they probably could help you, but because Lemmy is literally a super-minority platform. Same reason they aren’t in forums like zenhax or se7ensins.
From what I read on Reddit, many people have the same problem (with various of games). They are just SOL.
Stop whining here and contact Microsoft before their next database backup job runs.
Did you check the %LOCALAPPDATA%?
Also this happens on steam frequently as well, speaking from experience.
