Journalists and folks like Hasan have a practiced professional distance that they internalize. I think in this instance they are having that tested - particularly the Al Jazeeera journalists who’ve lost their families in the last 3 weeks and continued to report.

Hamas has historical ties to the Muslim Brotherhood which Sisi and the Egyptian military consider terrorists, as well as a peace treaty and diplomatic relations with Israel. As others have said, Egypt is a military dictatorship with ties to the US and support from it, these make it complicated for them to just open the border (although I do think that Israel saying they wanted Gazans to flee to Egypt means they would not airstrike it should they open it in that direction but also logic isn’t reliable in war all the time).

Hamas fighters are an organized militia and I will judge them and their actions differently than I will unarmed civilians. Thats literally all i want in the end. Israelis and Palestinians living alongside each other in peace, but I don’t see how that can come from supporting attacks on civilians, or from saying that they’re gonna be made to “go home” - people are saying that ALL the Israelis will be forced to leave, even though ALL Israelis includes black people and other non-Europeans.
What does that have to do with being forcibly relocated to countries that won’t even take them? And what about the ones that dobresir their government? Should they be allowed to stay? Would some future Palestinian court be set up to determine that?
Israelis are like Canadians or Americans in terms of how they relate to global hierarchies and oppression. I would wager that’s what most Hexbear users are as well.
