  • I bought it a few months back. Very fun, but the UI and general tutorial needs a lot of work as they are quite sparse. IMO.

As a new player I found it incredibly frustrating being left to figure out a bunch of stuff on my own. I ended up not playing it because I was struggling with stuff (like the waterwheels, and some other stuff, I forget) it really felt like a life commitment to just play DF.

It’s a good game but BOY has it been tough to figure out.

  • I had a very dear friend pass this year from Pancreatic cancer.

The dogshit thing about Pancreatic cancer (aside from it being cancer) is you generally don’t feel unwell until you’re quite advanced with it / stage 4 (terminal). That is what happened in my friends case. They gave so much in their short life and had so much more to give.

I’m sorry, I don’t think my comment was overtly substantial; I wanted to echo your point about how insidious cancer can be.

  • Bummer, it’s private… I’m assuming that’s a location issue as I’m in Europe?

This film holds such a funny nostalgia trip for me; my Dad bought me a DVD player from Macro Makro and this was one of the DVDs I picked out, I loved it and still do. Although I remember the cheese factor being off the freakin scale; some of the actors really phoned it in. Totally awesome Jackie film, right up there with Rumble in the Bronx.

    Logitech F310.

I’ve been using these for almost as long as I’ve been using Linux (10+ years). Plug and play and a good length on the cable. No vibration but that wasn’t essential for me.

(PS there IS a wireless model / version but I’ve never used it - Logitech F710).

    Best of luck.
