After years of rumors and speculation that Bethesda was working on a remake of the landmark role-playing game, the first screenshots of this brand new version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion have been found as fans started digging around the developer’s website ahead of a reported release next week.
It is done currently using a pairing system, so it means that the remaster is running using both an Unreal Engine 5 project, and the old Oblivion one. For instance, new graphics are rendered in the UE5 project, but most of the gameplay/physics/etc is still done in Oblivion.

It’s this about skyblivion or what? It doesn’t mention.
Skyblivion has been developing very publicly for years.
Mentioned in the first paragraph:
There seems to be a lot of confusion. It’s not Skyrim. It’s not Skyblivion. It’s not a port or a remaster.
It is a FULL REMAKE in a NEW engine.
Apparently it’s called a remaster, not a remake.

According to a leak from 2 years ago.
I hope that’s not the case, seems like it could be a train wreck.
On the other hand…it would make modding easier.

Read it again. Under the hood, it’s the same old game. Just rendering will be handled by UE5 (if this leak is accurate of course).

Ok? Doesn’t change that the game is titled a remaster (if the leaks are true).
IDK where you get that.
Remasters just improve the textures, maybe add new lighting techniques. They’re practically just mods for the OG thing.
That’s basically a port in my eyes.
I remember reading back in December/January that it’s going to be a mix of Unreal Engine 5 and the Gamebryo Engine from the original.
New engine as in an updated creation engine or new engine as in they finally gave up on creation engine
People are saying it’s UE5.

No, this is about the official remaster from Bethesda
