From Cape Ann Wildlife

Some of vou may remember this sweet little Screech Owlet that came through a while back. He’d been found grounded in someone’s yard after a cat attack and spent some time resting up in Erin’s care. We’re excited to report that he’s made a full recovery, has been federally banded and was released back with his family. Big thanks to all who helped make his recovery and reunion a success! Enjoy these wonderful photos by : René Meuse of our little friends big day and special thanks to Jesse Brad for banding him for us!

That’s just one more cool thing about animals. None of them judge people on anything like that!

I thought this was just a joke I didn’t get since other people up voted you, but now I’m wondering if that’s not the case…

What part are we thinking is fake?

These people work hard and for free to keep these animals safe and healthy. Is that hard to believe? I spent my Sunday doing the same.

Gotcha, I’m not very meme-knowledgable, so I miss a lot of these jokes. With all the bad actors right now, the downvotes on the post, and the other person downvoting my response about animals not caring if people are gay or not, I don’t want any not superb people wrecking what is a positive spot for a lot of people.

I work really hard to verify the stuff I share, and I want to maintain the credibility I’ve built here.

Help me out. Why don’t people like this post as much as the others from today?

It’s got a cute owl. It’s got people helping owls. It’s got educational stuff but not overbearingly so. I thought it had a funny title.

I’m trying to fine tune my way of presenting to you guys, so any ideas why this post isn’t working as well as the others for today?

It’s the big muscular tatted guy. People expect it to say something like “area cop acquitted of strangling owls” or something.

No offense to the guy, it’s just the tenor of the times as they say.

I thought his expression was rather harmless and we occasionally get some photos of nice ladies, and I wanted the fellas to be represented some too!

The way he is clutching the floofed up owl is also funny/cute.

absolutely agree! i think a man holding an owl is quite a beautiful site. whether he’s tatted or not! =D

With my looks and where I live, I get mistaken for a MAGA type a lot by strangers, which I am most certainly not. It’s important we focus on actions, not looks!

And he is - it’s just that I almost scrolled by because I expected it to be some corrupt police story at first glance.

The guy is much more apparent than the owl, especially during scrolling.

I debated which photo to use for the leading image. I chose this one as we’ve had people like the wife from the Owl Rescue Centre get featured, so I thought I’d highlight the nice young guy since we usually get more young ladies in the photos. Gotten even things out when I can! 😜

Yeah, it is doing reasonable well, but when I get a big disparity between posts, it always makes me wonder what is going on, as I don’t get any stats/feedback about who likes or dislikes posts. Also most posts will end up with one downvote, which I assume is a random click, but this one had a second so that had me wondering if there was something people actively disliked about it.

I feel I’m almost always wrong about which post of the day will be most popular, which I don’t care too much about, but I just want to try and present stuff in the way you all like, but I never know why my mind is working differently than the group’s as a whole. It’s just my curiosity.

I always try to bring you the best of the best!

There’s a lot where they’re really nice photos, but a little too plain, and now is baby season for many owls, but the babies haven’t seemed as popular so I’ve been trying not to do too many of them, but also not too few, but I always find plenty of cool things we haven’t seen yet. I don’t post things that are just there, it’s gotta get me excited at least a bit!

I’m glad all of you find this stuff at least a fraction as interesting as I do, and I always love hearing about how it is a positive thing in your lives that you look forward to!

I honestly didn’t even see the owl he was holding until I opened the full post. First reaction was, “That’s not an owl. Who is this guy and where is the owl?”

Hah, like a spam post to the community!

I’m Dave. People call me “The Internet Guy.”

That makes some sense. I thought the foot/band pics were too vague, as well as the one of the owl by itself. I think now after the feedback, I shoulda went with the one with the prominent thumb holding the little foot and showing the band and went with a title like “She said ‘Yes’” or something like that. 🤔
