  • Are tech schools still a thing?

The tech schools from my area offered trade focused education paths like plumbing, drafting, auto, hairdressing, and few others.

So you could basically go to them, skip college, and go right into a trade.

I know quite a few people who did that and they seem to be doing okay now.

  • As far as I know I’m not autistic, but hate eye contact and just kinda decided to not worry about it? Eye contact is cultural anyway, and in some countries it’s unusual or rude so I guess I just decided it’s not that important to me. That’s one option!

But for practical advice on improving if that’s what you want to strive for I find it’s easier to practice with someone you’re comfortable with. Looking between their eyes while talking casually. Not like staring, but reminding yourself to look up occasionally during conversation. And increasing the length of time you hold eye contact until it’s uncomfortable and look away. It’ll become more natural to you over time :)

There’s also videos available on YouTube that are for practicing eye contact but I found them creepy. My mistake was probably smoking weed beforehand, so maybe don’t do that!

    Best of luck to you!

  • I agree with you on the caring more about car users part, except that the shitty infrastructure caused that scenario. If there’s no where to safely emergency park a car except for the bike lane that’s on the town or city and where the anger should be directed.

I’m a timid person and won’t ride a bike in my town because of how narrow the shoulders are and there’s always gravel, sand and debris on it. It freaks me out too much, which sucks since I’d prefer to do that since it’s more affordable.

  • I feel like Conspiracy theories are at least partially the result of a lack of regulation and oversight for governing bodies and corporate entities.

For example… the atomic energy commission approved experimenting on disabled children by feeding radioactive oats to them.

    https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/spoonful-sugar-helps-radioactive-oatmeal-go-down-180962424/

It’s one of the reasons we have laws like informed consent now.

Everytime we run into something new, like radiation, some company or government branch does some seriously unethical shit with it and new laws and regulations are written.

So it’s like we’re all just waiting to find out what new fucked up thing has happened, and how many corporations are gonna fight any proposed regulations regarding it.

  • True story about catholic hospitals, Sometimes, when a woman comes in having a miscarriage, catholic hospitals will just push her to the parking to die so Jesus won’t judge them for performing an abortion.

Homicide via medical neglect is totally fine as long as it’s done so the hospital staff doesn’t go to hell.
