““the WEST!””
““the WEST!””
on that note i still need to figure out how to auto-forward my X emails to my Y email lol
So the two solutions I’m seeing are either the Lemmy version of a “multireddit”, or another bot that reposts things across instances lol
Yeah but that can be determined just by account age and number of posts, not by the public reception of those posts.
Nah, it’s been enabled, it’s literally just that instance that wont show anything without an account on their instance.
Unless you mean the setting for my *.world account can be on everywhere else but OFF on the *nsfw instance alone??
what’s Activity Pub? you’re the first person to teach me that name
No some communities need a new login. lemmy NSFW has no content without it. th there’s the issue of having a slow instance like world vs another instance
oh of course this one posted…
I’ll have you know the unposted one was better. a real zinger
I tried to comment but Lemmy kinda sucks and only works maybe 40% of the time.
Yikes. Asking all visitors to enter ID? They just don’t want anyone on those sites. You could just as well use a device-based age verification system and cut out a major point of access. Looking like Arkansas and Mississippi are following the South Korean model.
So far I’ve seen lots of discussion in AskLemmy and plenty of memes in 196 or 195
This is what bugs me. When the personalities a sub is built around stays on Reddit despite supporting the protests. Like game subs - if the Devs are there, the players will post there. Supporting the protests in name, but not joining a community on the current best alternative…
Yeah no fuck that I don’t need some giant duck flappin in my face, give me the 1% horsepower army…
Prior to smoking, the primary emotion was disgust. Just on a basic physiological level - the stuff stinks.
Post, it became an odd mix of nostalgia, sadness, and still some of that basic disgust.
Well of course a new site has some ramp up time compared to an 18 year old platform.
Nope, I’m seeing discussions unrelated to Reddit every time I’m on here. And there’s often more comments than I care to read! The main hurdle for me is the long load times and the inconsistency of the buttons.
But remember!
There’s never going to be a perfect alternative. No Reddit alternative is going to function the same as a massive 18 year old site from Day 1. It takes some time, some stress tests, some development, and some dedication. Just remember the shit they pulled to bring us here.
Thank you @talklittle for having that app for so long
I didn’t believe it would really go down until I saw it myself
Tried using Firefox for Android w/ Adblock for about 1 night and the user experience was as bad as using Lemmy, a site buckling under expanding user growth and in its infancy in development. So I said “Well, I might as well just use Lemmy”.
Half? Yeah right! Even if they were half the nation - which they aren’t - it’s gonna be like 90% in some areas and 10% in others.
Octopus are so precious.
American Internet MLs when someone defends colonization by criticizing the prior systems of the colonized people: "Let colonized people dedcide their own fate! >:( "
American Internet MLs when someone criticizes China’s colonization of Tibet: “[5000 characters criticizing prior systems in Tibet]”
I just want some consistency. Why is it liberation when China does it to Tibet but colonization when America does it to Afghanistan/South America/everywhere else? Fuck em both bro
Also have you ever noticed that criticisms of Tibet’s former systems always rely on the secondary source of The Timely Rain, an account written by foreign travelers in Tibet? (Or, as MLs might call someone who travels to Asia to do this today, written by “colonizers”?) Why is that perspective okay with you, enough to justify China’s actions?
