  • Because many people are easy to be brainwashed with Facebook and Tik Tok and WhatsApp conspiracy theories. And they are also brainwashed in the churches (many people voted for Simion because he is a „man of God“. Such bullshit!). Even educated people. They just stop thinking for themselves. I know people are discontent with political parties, all over the world, there are no real politicians left nowadays, and if there are, they get eaten alive by the other scumbags. But that is no reason to look to Russia to help.

In the article, they are talking about difficult fitting in the societies where they emigrated to. My opinion is, as an immigrant as well, that one has to make the effort to integrate. You cannot expect for that to fall on the shoulders of the citizens where you emigrated. No society is perfect, and we have to accept that. And live where it bests suits us. But voting for anti-EU puppet will not help your life living abroad. You might get kicked out of the EU and be forced to get back to your country.

And EU does not make everything perfect, but one can get involved to force changes there. Not just complain in your WhatsApp group. Will it be better to live like they do in Russia? Become their friends and who knows, maybe in future be sent to fight a war for them? I don’t think so. People should start to think for themselves and not just listen blindly to their preachers.

EU should do something to stop the easy access to propaganda tools for the Russians and Chinese. I would be happy to see Facebook and Tik Tok be banned, they are just rotting people’s minds.

  • Thanks for the interesting read. It is a good reminder for me to practice more of my favourite passtime. I do fall many times into the grips of YouTube, but I find it happens more if I am inside the house. I don’t reach to it when I’m in nature or outside places. I always liked to daydream and imagine scenarios and hope for the future. But it is a treacherous habit if I do it before bed, since I can stay up for hours doing it. I have such a vivid imagination that movies usually do not appeal to me, I have them in my head and I can imagine whatever I want.

And I do remember so many moments of idleness when I was a child. For example being in my room on a sunny day and watching the dust particles dancing in the light rays of the sun coming in. It was so magical.

Nowadays, when sitting in a park, or in front of the window in a restaurant, I love watching people and imagining how their lives are. I could do it for hours.

    Thank you for the reminder!

  • Thanks for the link, interesting read( I read the transcript). A section here:

VOLPE: Yeah. Yeah. Like Harris said, it’s an easy solution. And you know, speaking of, like, some of these people, like Andrew Tate, like, their messages of, like, you know, you need to have women around you only to dominate them. And, like, those sort of messages, I think, are very appealing for men who feel like their place in the world is being threatened. And so it’s very easy to say, like, oh, yeah, like, maybe they just need a girlfriend or a friend and, like, they’ll be better.

And I think that maps neatly onto the way that we socialize boys and men, too, to sort of value that one romantic relationship, and, like, that is the thing…

This might be one of the reasons. But it is interesting that the survey says it is only 1% less of women than men feeling lonely. Would be interesting to know the country too. Not all societies are the same, and in some friendships between men are similar in connection like between 2 women.

  • I don’t understand how you make this a political thing. Do you by chance live in the US? There is a lot of polarisation there.

As a woman myself, I think some people understand feminism differently than others. I don’t agree with women that just spit hate on men simply because they are men. Feminism is about empowering women to be whatever they like and be equal to men in society, relationships, family, work. I had my fair share of discrimination in my life based on my gender, and I constantly fight against it, but that does not make me just hate men by default. I know a lot of men that are on the same page with me about how we should be as a society. And a society where we are all getting along is so much better than a polarised one.

I am lucky to have found a husband that is secure with his masculinity(whatever that means to him), that he does not feel threatened about me having, for example, hobbies like woodworking, or having some muscles on my body. That does not mean I don’t find him masculine, because I do.

We are all shades of masculinity and femininity, and blocking one of these sides from us is just stupid. We are what we are and we can get along just fine with each other with a bit of effort. We don’t have to hate on the ones that are not like us.

And my interests often limit my ability to find good people to be friends with. Though I will admit igot some good friends among them who don’t suck.

To this I say, try new hobbies and activities. Volunteer somewhere, that will make you find nice people. You need to find friends that are awesome for you, not just that don’t suck. Some great friendships can be very healing for the soul.

  • Although I love Chinese food and would love to visit some of their fabulous nature spots, this is the reason I never would: their regime. And I am sure they have lovely people, I even have some lovely Chinese colleagues. It’s a shame they have to live under authoritarian regime that is fooling them with a capitalist face.

The same goes to US. I will never visit the country while it is under an authoritarian regime, as they currently are.

I know that in some cultures, life is not valued as much as it is in mine, and they can turn a blind eye to inhuman conditions some are forced into, but I choose to boycott those regimes as much as I possibly can. Hopefully more will do so with time.

  • Yeah, people are ignorant, that’s what it is. And they like to lie to themselves. I don’t like war, I don’t like conflict, even in my personal life, I rather live in peace and quiet. But step over my boundaries and you will be sorry. And second time you will probably avoid that.

I lean more to the left, generally, but I think nowadays, the left takes things to the extreme. It is one thing to purposely attack someone, it is another to not be able to defend yourself against attacks of any kind. When those people are against spending on defence and arms, they are just ignorant. Why do you think police exist? Because some people just don’t have the morality to abide by the rules we all set.

Do your work as a politician to ensure domestic safety and that there is no corruption in government to use those weapons for personal gains. Then the far right will not be so effective with their propaganda. They feed on fear and discontent. Make your citizens feel safe and have decent lives, and they will vote you.

  • :( Sorry to hear that. As human civilisation, we all lost honor, accountability, pride of a well done job. Sure, there are still a lot of people like that, but it is not the norm. We somehow need a reset, but we are not a computer that is easily resettable. And the systems in place just make people more broken. In my opinion education is everything, but to enforce good education…we are also depending on the current leaders. And there are very few good leaders in this world, because the system breaks you before getting in a position where you can make a change.

I think we also lack small communities. One‘s behaviour gets regulated by the feedback you have from the community. And it also can inspire you tu help and be a better person. In Today’s age, we are so individual, there are no external regulations, there is zero tolerance to being uncomfortable, because you don’t have to. Your life and basic necessities do not depend on your community as before. Most people are not bad, they are just misguided, unhappy and they do not know how to deal with emotions, how to self regulate. And if nobody regulates you with a feedback, yo go wild. I really hope there will be a change in our views now that it looks like Europe is on its own and we have to take care of each others. But I don’t put my hopes up too much.

  • Oh, the Abogados Cristianos are involved. Those are some bunch of assholes from what I heard. This is what Le Chat tells me, but there are much more. I found an article here: https://www.diario.red/articulo/actualidad/echenique-queque-willy-toledo-lalachus-larga-lista-ataques-abogados-cristianos/20250103160940040683.html

„ The Spanish Association of Christian Lawyers (Abogados Cristianos) has filed hundreds of lawsuits, complaints, and appeals, but their goal is not necessarily to achieve judicial success—as they know what they are doing—but rather to create a long-term strategy from the right-wing political, media, and judicial spheres aimed at gaining public visibility and undermining the adversary’s credibility and rights.

They have done this with the right to abortion, with the law of amnesty, with the law that guarantees consent, and with a long list of attacks (including those against the Ombudsman) from which it is worth highlighting the complaint they filed against the activists who were protesting in the cathedral of Alcalá de Henares against therapy to “cure” homosexuality; against the artist Abel Azcona for a work that denounced abuses in the Catholic Church; against clinics that perform abortions; against the director of the Reina Sofía Museum for hosting an exhibition that included an image of a crucified Christ at the urinal; against the artist Drag Sethlas for quoting “blasphemous phrases” in a performance; against the mayors who removed crosses using the Law of Historical Memory as an excuse; against those responsible for the comic ‘El Niño Jesús no odia a los mariquitas’; against feminists in general for the supposed “gender ideology”; against Willy Toledo for calling them “troglodytes” and “ultra-rightists”; against Wyoming for dressing up as a bishop of the so-called ‘Aznarian Church’ in reference to the latest appearance of the popular leader José María Aznar, accusing him of making “humiliating statements for Catholics”; against the comedian Quequé for a joke on his show about “dynamiting the Valley of the Fallen”; against Pablo Echenique for stating on social media that “it is much more likely for a priest to commit a sexual assault against minors than for a migrant person to commit a crime.” And a long etcetera to not bore anyone.

The latest of their complaints has been suffered by the comedian Lalachus, a collaborator of David Broncano’s program and presenter of the New Year’s Eve special on TVE this year. Why in this case? For alleged crimes of hatred and against religious sentiments after showing an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with the head of the Grand Prix cow during the broadcast of the New Year’s Eve special.

The modus operandi of the association backed by Vox is always the same. They aim to create controversy by alleging crimes of hatred and offenses against religious sentiments, spreading these allegations through the media, especially through right-wing media outlets, and ultimately, when judicial recourse is exhausted or dismissed, no one remembers it. In other words, they make politics through lawsuits with the aim of attacking social rights or women’s rights and thereby targeting the most vulnerable groups.„
