Balkans would be interesting. Some Mujahideen fighters were actually sent there by the US to stir up trouble, but they were stabbed in the back and forced to either return to their countries of origin or be arrested. I’ve heard (though unfortunately, I can’t for the life of me think where) that this was one of the real reasons for 9/11 - Bin Laden was pissed off that the CIA fucked him and his friends over.

I think expat communities have something to do with it. I was listening to a podcast about modern reactionaries and nazis the other day, and they did an episode about Slavic Native Faith. The Ukrainian brand was started by a Ukrainian, but took off in the States long before it gained a foothold in the motherland.

Tbf this is actually a good example to point to of how consensus is reached on Hexbear, for all the people who think we’re bots or paid shills. Fun fact: Hungary has the northernmost Islamic pilgramage site in the world, Gül Baba’s tomb, and in Eger there is one of the northernmost European minarets. The Hungarians also inhereted lots of Turkish Baths from the Ottomans (Fürdőszóba in Hungarian, I think).
