For cameras, the convention is Z depth but right handed:
As an engineer, Z up right handed is the only one that makes sense. All engineering follows this convention, motion sensors (example) or GPS topography will use that.
Cameras calibrations also use right hand but typically rotated such that it’s X right, Y down, Z depth. That way, the projection formula give the pixels column, row and depth values.
Most of the interesting channels I follow seem to rely on sponsorship, donations or merchandising. For specialized subjects, the youtube algorithm doesn’t acknowledge the value of the audience in terms of advertising (ex: tool brand for car channel).
Hi! Nothing to ask but I just wanted to let you know I appreciate your work!
Great list, thank! Have you seen children of the whale ? If my memory is correct it could make it on this list. Also I don’t recall any weird stuff in Arcane season 1 (does it qualify as an anime though?).
Afaik, Macron is relatively highly regarded in Europe
Is he ? I might be biased by french media, but I don’t feel like he is highly regarded by foreign politicians. Liberal media like him because he is one of the last few good looking and good sounding proponents of their ideas.
I believe @Dojan was referencing the Puritans, not the founding fathers.
It’s a misconception/misrepresentation that they are more uneducated or idiotic than average. They may look like it (or the media make them so), but actual idiots wouldn’t be as capable as they are to push their agenda forward.
No, they are the system, and the system is held together by the law.
technology is still advancing
Actually not really: performance per watt of the high end stuff has been stagnating since Ampere generation. NVidia hides it by changing models in its benchmarks or advertising raw performance without power figures.
We had police just following orders during WWII in France. This is not a proud moment of our history, we pardon but we do not forgive.
None of the researchers in my lab go to conferences in the US anymore (there is remote participation since covid).
That’s rich coming from a party which saved the (partially) far right government from dissolution.
I think it’s all about the timeline. Tesla gambled on cameras before AI models became usable (the company most certainly committed itself to the camera sensors a few years before it became public). By the time automated driving models became usable, Tesla had tons of camera data to capitalize on, but presumably not the corresponding radar data (or not in a consistent manner), so rebuilding a multi-sensor dataset for AI training was probably not very appealing in terms of cost and time to market.
There might be a few shortcuts in the message but the general idea remains: the connection between liberalism and authoritarianism makes sense.
They already suffered from his shitty actions, he did not become a terrible person overnight.
They don’t even borrow their money to you, they were granted the right to print that money.
Maybe if they don’t pass funding, we just renew the last passed funding.
This is exactly what happened a few days ago in France. While it’s not perfect, it’s still a whole lot better than a shutdown.
I listen to the news almost every day and missed that. I guess it shows how bad things are that it didn’t make the news…
